With Pakistan currently contesting against New Zealand in the third and final Test at Abu Dhabi, Cricket South Africa (CSA) have announced their 13 man squad which will face Pakistan in the three-match Test series. The series will commence from December 26 at the Supersport Park in Centurion, where South Africa will be looking to stamp their authority on home soil.
Young fast bowler, Lungi Ngidi will be missing out of action due to a knee injury and has been ruled out for the next 12 weeks. Zubayr Hamza is the new kid on the blocks who has earned his maiden call up after averaging close to 50 in 51 first class matches so far.
South Africa’s veteran batsman Hashim Amla is back in contention after missing out the series against Australia due to an injury. Amla is currently a part of the ongoing Mzansi Super League (MSL) and will be eager to have a go against Pakistan in the forthcoming series. Duanne Olive comes in, in place of Lungi Ngidi, while Faf Du Plesis continues his role as captain.

Keshav Mahraj will star as the lone spinner for his nation, given the lack of assistance spinners get on South African decks.
Apart from the Tests, South Africa will also square off in 5 One Day International’s (ODIs), and 3 T20 Internationals which concludes on February next year.
