Steve Bruce has dodged the axe from Aston Villa’s new billionaire owners who have put plans to bring in Thierry Henry on hold.
Nassef Sawiris and Wes Edens Villa’s new owners considered sacking Steve Bruce and appointing Arsenal legend Thierry Henry but the new owner’s decision was met by a huge fan backlash resulting, Aston Villa backing Steve Bruce for the next season.
Sawiris said: “We are appreciative of the fanbase that has made Aston Villa a club that people look out for. That was our No.1 attraction. We are here to bring the club back to its original glory.”
After that a statement was released by Aston Villa.
Statement said: “Aston Villa can confirm manager Steve Bruce has met majority owners Nassef Sawiris and Wes Edens and will continue as manager with their full support.”
