On a relatively good day for the Indian wrestler, Sajan & Manish have qualified for the bronze medal match in their respective weight categories in the Greco-Roman event of the Junior Wrestling Championships. Manish, who had lost in the semifinal of 60kg, will fight H Mohamed of Egypt while Sajan, who had lost in the pre-quarters of 74kg, will fight A Erbay of Turkey.
After losing to A Makhmudov of Kyrgyzstan in the prequartersm, Sajan displayed a a great spirit to 3 matches in the repechage round and qualify for the bronze medal match which will be against Ali Osman Errbay of Turkey.
Manish had lost by VPO, 3-1 against Keramat Morad Abdevali of Iran in the semifinal of the Greco-Roman 60 Kg category in the UWW Junior World Wrestling Championship to bow out of the gold medal race.
Earlier Manish had defeated junior world bronze medalist Seydylla Tazayev (TKM) 8-5. He had battled past Korean wrestler Gabin Kim in 1st round.
Sajan had defeated Croatian wrestler Antonio Kamernasevic after displaying a good fighting spirit in his first bout before losing to Akzhol Makhmudov of Kyrgyzstan by VSU1, 12-2 in the pre-quarterfinals and will have to pray that Akzhol at least reaches the final to have any chance of fighting for bronze in repechage round.
