Indian skipper Virat Kohli has been in superb form on the cricket field in the year 2018 and made loads of runs in the calendar year. The success he’s had in cricket has resulted in him becoming the richest sportsperson in the annual list of Forbes India’s Richest Celebrity 100.
The 30-year-old cricket enjoyed a remarkable year with the bat. He shattered a number of records and bagged some really highly-lucrative advertisement contracts as well. In this calendar year, the Indian skipper has accumulated a whopping amount of INR 228.09 crores and is only behind Bollywood superstar Salman Khan in the overall list.
Virat was on the second spot on the Forbes India Celebrity List 2017 having earned a total of Rs. 100.72 crores last year. This means that the flamboyant batsman has almost doubled his earnings in this calendar year, which nothing but astonishing.
Following Virat on the list of richest sportspersons is none other than captain cool Mahendra Singh Dhoni. The former Indian skipper made a staggering amount Rs. 101.77 crores in 2018 while legendary Sachin Tendulkar came in at 3rd place in the list of richest sportspersons. Tendulkar earned Rs. 80 crores this year.
Badminton ace PV Sindhu is fourth on the list and is also the highest earning female athlete in India with an estimated earning of Rs. 36.5 crores last year. Here fellow shuttler Saina Nehwal occupied the 10th spot in the rankings.
