Royal Challengers Bangalore skipper Virat Kohli, who is the leading run scorer for the team, has yet again went past the 500-run mark in an IPL season for the fifth time and became the first batsman to do so in the league on Monday.
The 29-year-old right handed batsman achieved the feat in their crucial clash against Kings XI Punjab which they won easily by 10 wickets at the Holkar Stadium in Indore.
Following Kohli, former skipper of SunRisers Hyderabad David Warner is in the list who has scored 500+ runs in a season for 4 times.
The other players in this illustrious list — behind the swashbuckling duo — are Suresh Raina, Chris Gayle and Gaumtam Gambhir, who all have crossed this mark thrice in the cash-rich league.
Virat Kohli: 5 times
David Warner: 4
Suresh Raina: 3
Chris Gayle: 3
Gautam Gambhir: 3
Sachin Tendulkar: 2
Meanwhile, RCB is currently struggling for qualifying for play-offs with having 10 points in their hand in 12 matches they have played.
