The game of cricket has been going through a lot of transformations lately. The entertainment quotient in the sport is getting higher day after day as the batsmen try to hit the ball in such a way that actually defied the traditional way of batting.
Even bowlers are coming up with different types of deliveries so that they do not face the wrath of batsmen. Having a weird bowling can also come handy when you are faced with the uphill task of bowling in what is nowadays largely a batsman’s game.
In a recent video shared by BCCI on their Facebook page shows one such action which will surely blow your mind up.
The 55-second video shows a left-handed off-spinner bowling to a right-handed batsman in what looks like a junior level match being played somewhere in the continent. Nothing special comes up your way when the video starts and the bowler’s run-up looks normal until he does a swift 360-degree turn just before delivering the ball.
One thing that really stands out in the video is that the batsman did not complain about the bowler’s bowling action. It was the umpire who took it upon himself to declare the ball – a dead ball. In fact, the batsman seemed to be very surprised when the delivery was adjudged a dead ball.
The video caught everyone’s attention and was also tweeted by legendary Indian spinner Bishan Singh Bedi on his Twitter account.
The clip has got more than 16000 views on Facebook and has cricket fans on the social media divide. But one thing’s for sure, if a guy like this plays in the international circuit it will be great to see how big-hitting batsmen would tackle this weird bowling style.
