Andy Murray’s sudden retirement from tennis has prompted a widespread reaction on social media, with tributes flooding in from past legends and present rivals of the game from around the globe.
Legends of the game including Rod Laver and Billie Jean King took to the social media and expressed their surprise for this move and wished luck for future endeavors from the Great Britain’s 3 time Grand Slam Winner. Besides the greats, contemporaries Rafael Nadal, Juan Del Porto too took to twitter and were surprised at this turn of event.

Murray was struggling to recover from a hip surgery which led to his absence from half of 2018. He was in tears as he addressed to the journalists. He also dismissed the possibility of becoming a doubles player in the future. Thus, he may also not be teaming up with older brother Jamie.
