Indian wrestler Gurpreet Singh displayed a great performance in the first round of 77kg men’s Greco-Roman category and entered the quarter-finals of the event at the ongoing Asian Games in Jakarta on Wednesday.
He handed a crushing defeat to Thailand’s Natal Apichai, as he won by technical superiority, 9-0, which also included a five-pointer.
On the other hand, heavyweight wrestler Naveen could not show an action-packed bout by any means as he was unable to find any attacking joy and lost the match against China’s Ling Zhe Meng 4-1 in the first round.
