The Sydney Test of 2008 between Australia & India was one of the most controversial ones in the history of Test cricket.
The second match of the Border Gavaskar Trophy had witnessed one of the worst umpiring blunders by Steve Bucknor, and Mark Benson. If that wasn’t enough, third umpire – Bruce Oxenford also tagged in as another example of terrible officiating.
Andrew Symonds was out on a number of occasions, but Bucknor for some reason wanted him to stay.
Symonds went on to score a century, and was later assisted by the third umpire after being given not out for a stumping appeal
On the big screen, it was quite evident that Symonds’ foot was nowhere behind the crease.
