Real Madrid forward Karim Benzema picked up an injury in his hamstring muscles of his right leg, as revealed by the MRI he underwent on Monday, according to reports of Real Madrid.Benzema had to be replaced at the half-timein Saturday's match against Alaves, after feeling discomfort that prevented him from playing at his own pace.
After a day of rest for the inflammation in the affected area, the Real Madrid doctors carried out the relevant tests this afternoon in the sports city of Valdebebas. Reports indicate, the French striker could be out for two weeks.
"Following tests carried out today on our player Karim Benzema by the Real Madrid Sanitas medical team, he has been diagnosed with an injury to his right hamstring. His recovery will continue to be assessed," the statement said.
Karim Benzema's injury increases the worst run of muscular problems that Julen Lopetegui's team is facing recently. Real already lost two full-backs, Dani Carvajal and Marcelo.
The Spanish giants also failed to count on Gareth Bale in Moscow, who has been left out of Wales squad with discomforts that prevented him from performing fully in the last two league matches.
